Every person deserves a good coach

Modern life is busy, the world unpredictable and the future uncertain. Actually, it is a miracle that most people manage to hold their own. But as humans, we are very good at that. Blinders on. Emotions to a distant corner in your brain. And go.
But there is something on top of that. We live in a society that is completely focused on self-realization. And in that we demand quite a lot from ourselves. That we are the best version of ourselves at any time of the day. A job that suits our talents and ambitions. A rich social life. Happy children. A fit body. And we prefer to show the outside world that we can get all this done with ease.

Get ahead of the problems
Of course, it’s not that easy. It can go well for a long time, but it can also go terribly wrong. The number of burnouts is increasing in all walks of life. People don’t feel seen. Motivation disappears. Do they get stuck in some way. Because they have lost the balance.
Just try to find that balance again. To come back from a burnout and function well is not easy. That takes a lot of time. And costs a lot of money. That is why we say: as an organization, make sure you are ahead of it. The faster you act, the better. It is best to start when there is no problem yet.
But this is easier said than done. It is not easy for an organization to recognize problems before they present themselves. And if that happens to work, there is often no time to give those problems structural attention. Or lack the knowledge to refer someone to a good place.
“Actually, every person deserves a professional coach. Someone who knows his way around the human psyche. Who can help you to get balance in your life.”
And you a coach! And you a coach! And you a coach!
Actually, every person deserves a professional coach. Someone who knows his way around the human psyche. Who can help you to get balance in your life. The balance between work and private life, but also, for example, between your current position and your ambitions. Or between motivation and meaning.
Until recently, these types of coaches were only available to the upper class of the business community. It is generally assumed that they are under great stress. You want to prevent them from falling out. Because if that does happen, it has a major impact on an organization. In short, it is evident that the upper class needs coaches. However, it is now clear that they are not the only ones under great pressure. And that they are not the only ones who deserve a good coach. Moreover, it is an effective way to increase happiness at work. In other words, you not only prevent dropout, you also provide more satisfaction.

But where do you find a good coach?
Coach is an unprotected title. Anyone can call themselves a coach. In the rat race of self-realization, the coaches are shooting up like mushrooms. As a result, there has been a kind of proliferation of coaches who mainly know a lot about coaching other coaches. As a result, the threshold for many companies to engage a coach is unnecessarily high.
Unnecessary, because of course they do exist, professional coaches. They know what they are talking about. Who are scientifically grounded and do not only give advice based on their ‘feelings’. Coaches who are trained in listening, who are empathetic and can build a personal relationship with their coachees in a short time. And who can give clear advice. Advice that is useful to you. As an individual, but also as an organization.
That’s exactly why Buddy exists
In the end, everyone benefits. The employee who finds balance, is more confident in his or her shoes and therefore experiences more happiness at work. But also the organization. Because happy employees stay longer, work more effectively, perform better and are not so likely to drop out. Moreover, coaching provides insight into the pain points, the blind spots and the opportunities of a team or organization.
May cost something, you will think now. But that’s not so bad. We founded Buddy for this purpose. To make professional coaches accessible to everyone. Not only to prevent burnout, but also to help with career guidance and the personal development of employees.
